Stop 1 · SIC Taichung · 22 September 2026 (Tue)

Taiwan’s Golden Valley of Smart Precision Manufacturing

On 22 September we visit the Precision Machinery Research & Development Center, the technical backbone of Taiwan’s machine-tool industry for more than thirty years. In the evening we sit down with Taichung angels and mark the launch of the SIC Taichung chapter.

  • ▸ 16:00–17:00　Precision Machinery Research & Development Center (PMC)
    Founded in 1993 by the government and the machine-tool industry, PMC is one of the most important bridges between policy and Taiwan’s machinery sector, having tested more than 19,000 machines, the highest count anywhere in the world. The visit covers two things: the current state of Taiwan’s precision machinery and smart manufacturing, and PMC’s own R&D in machine networking, sensing systems and smart robotics, including Taiwan’s first fully software-controlled dual-arm robot.
  • ▸ 18:00　SIC Taichung launch dinner
    An evening with local angels and business owners alongside SIC members from Taipei and Kaohsiung, formally opening the Taichung chapter. As one of the key stops on the anniversary tour, it is also a chance to look back on four years and talk about what the central Taiwan chapter does next.

Stop 2 · SIC Silicon Valley · SF Bay Area · 5–11 October 2026 (PT)

2026 San Francisco Tech Week

Tech Week is the annual technology gathering run by Silicon Valley venture firm a16z (Andreessen Horowitz), touring several US cities each year. This year SIC brings a delegation to the San Francisco edition, the one that sets the tone.

SF Tech Week packs hundreds of sessions into seven days, bringing together the founders, funds and developers shaping what comes next across the Bay Area. Rather than concentrating everything in one venue, it works as a decentralised ecosystem: pitch nights, workshops, hackathons, founder dinners and investor panels, each run independently by startups, funds and communities and spread across the whole city. It has been called the largest decentralised tech event in the world.

This year’s speakers and self-hosted sessions include IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, HubSpot co-founder Brian Halligan, WHOOP founder Will Ahmed and Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, alongside OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Databricks and Scale AI.

SIC is taking the opportunity to bring a delegation of angel investors, founders and industry partners to the Bay Area.

Stop 3 · SIC Kaohsiung · 28 October 2026 (Wed)

Next+ Sustainable Impact Academy Final Pitch

The third stop takes us back to Kaohsiung, not to hold a forum, but to walk into something that has already run its full course.

The fourth Next+ Sustainable Impact Academy cohort reaches its Final Pitch. This is the real test after a complete programme: turn the idea into a model, put the model on a stage, and take questions from actual investors.

The Kaohsiung chapter has long used the Next+ Academy as its platform, linking fundraising coaching with local capital. For investors, there is no more direct way to observe a team. For founders, this is the moment the answer gets handed in.

The Academy enters its fourth year in 2026 and has launched an alumni association. Cohort three’s 12 teams span agrifood tech, circular economy, smart healthcare and cultural creative industries.

  • ▸Over three years the Academy has supported 36 high-potential startups in southern Taiwan on their way to commercialisation
  • ▸Three alumni teams have since raised from SIC; two of them opened cross-industry work with SIC investors that lifted revenue by around 10%
  • ▸In April 2026 the chapter signed a partnership with NCKU’s Phoenix startup platform, opening a two-way channel between academia and capital in southern Taiwan

Stop 4 · SIC Singapore · 27–29 October 2026

2026 SWITCH Singapore Innovation & Technology Week

SWITCH (the Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology) is Enterprise Singapore’s annual flagship and one of Asia’s most influential platforms for technology startups. The 2026 edition runs 27–29 October, drawing leaders, founders, accelerators and investors from across the global-Asia innovation ecosystem. SIC will be there.

Last year SWITCH drew over 25,000 attendees, with the deal and exhibition halls hosting 400+ startups and exhibitors and 30+ country pavilions, across four focus areas: health and biomedical technology, smart cities and urban solutions, trade and connectivity, and emerging sustainability technology.

From the Main Stage of technology leaders to SWITCH Beyond for deep tech and SWITCH Global for market expansion, it is one place to read AI, robotics and quantum computing, and to connect directly into Southeast Asian and global markets.

For Taiwanese investors and startups, Singapore is the gateway to Southeast Asia, and SIC has a chapter and community there.

Angel Investing 3.0 Flagship Forum

The tour ends where it started.

19 November is opening day at Meet Taipei. SIC hosts a dedicated forum on site and takes two full hours to make the case for Angel Investing 3.0.

Meet Taipei is Taiwan’s largest startup expo, run by Business Next, and the three days each year when Taiwanese founders, investors and international partners are most densely in one room.
