So this year we split the annual meeting into five stops, going into the cities where our chapters sit and the industries behind them: smart manufacturing in Taichung, the technology frontier in Silicon Valley, sustainability in practice in Kaohsiung, the Asian gateway in Singapore, and finally back to Taipei, a base for innovation of every kind.

Taiwan’s Golden Valley of Smart Precision Manufacturing

A site visit to the technical backbone of Taiwan’s machine-tool industry, followed by dinner with Taichung angels and the launch of the SIC Taichung chapter.

  • ▸PMC: founded in 1993 by the government and the machine-tool industry; more than 19,000 machines tested to date, the highest count in the world
  • ▸Machine networking, sensing systems and smart robotics, including Taiwan’s first fully software-controlled dual-arm robot
  • ▸Taichung is Taiwan’s smart-manufacturing heartland; the chapter focuses on machine tools, robotics and second-generation succession

2026 San Francisco Tech Week

An SIC delegation of angels, founders and industry partners heads to the Bay Area for what is billed as the world’s largest decentralised tech event.

Next+ Sustainable Impact Academy: Final Pitch

Not a panel discussion, but a real finish line: the moment founders hand in the answer they have spent a whole cohort preparing.

  • ▸Final presentations and judge Q&A from the fourth Next+ Academy cohort
  • ▸The Kaohsiung chapter opened in 2023, giving SIC a second engine in the south, and runs the Next+ Academy as its platform for fundraising coaching and local capital
  • ▸For investors, the most direct look at a team you will ever get; plus time with Kaohsiung angels and the Academy’s mentors
  • ▸Over three years the academy has supported 36 high-potential startups in southern Taiwan on their way to commercialisation

2026 SWITCH Singapore Innovation & Technology Week

Singapore is the gateway to Southeast Asia, and SIC has a chapter and a community on the ground. This stop plugs straight into Asian and global markets.

  • ▸Enterprise Singapore’s flagship event: over 25,000 attendees, 400+ startups and exhibitors and 30+ country pavilions last year
  • ▸Four focus areas: health and biomedical tech, smart cities and urban solutions, trade and connectivity, and emerging sustainability tech
  • ▸SIC has signed an MOU with Singapore angel network AngelCentral to share deal flow across Asia-Pacific
  • ▸SIC’s Singapore SPVs already carry cross-border deals including Nandina REM, SurgiBox and SparkLabs

Angel Investing 3.0 Flagship Forum

The tour ends where it started. 19 November is opening day at Meet Taipei, and we take two full hours to make the case for Angel Investing 3.0.

  • ▸Meet Taipei is Taiwan’s largest startup expo: in 2025 it drew over 400 startups from 20 countries, 55,000 visits across three days and 536 matchmaking sessions
  • ▸What platformisation actually looks like in the US, Europe and Singapore, with first-hand reads on AngelList, Sydecar, Vauban and Auptimate
  • ▸Views from Singapore, Silicon Valley and Phoenix, and the real gap between Taiwan’s regulation and international practice
