SIC turns four: come see five startup ecosystems

Sustainable Impact Capital (SIC) is four years old. Rather than one annual meeting, this year takes the form of a chapter tour: Taichung, Silicon Valley, Kaohsiung and Singapore each host their own event, before the tour closes at the Taipei flagship: three months, five cities.

The theme is Angel Investing 3.0: from ten-year funds to a one-deal-one-SPV platform. This is exactly the model SIC has spent four years exploring: around 200 angel investors across 13+ international cities, 38 portfolio companies and 26 SPVs.

Every stop stands on its own: come to the ones that fit your calendar and your interests; there is no need to attend all five. Silicon Valley and Singapore are overseas delegation visits, for which we send visit information; Taichung, Kaohsiung and Taipei are events in Taiwan.

I’m not an SIC member. Can I still come?
Yes. Apart from a few closed sessions, most of the programme is open to anyone with a genuine interest in angel and impact investing. Select the stops you are interested in above and we will be in touch.
What does each stop cost, and how do I register?
Cost and format differ by stop. Fill in the form above and an SIC partner will follow up with the full details.
Do I have to attend all five stops?
No. Every stop stands on its own, so come to the ones that fit your calendar and your interests.
Do the overseas visits include flights and accommodation?

What is SIC?
Sustainable Impact Capital is a four-year-old cross-border angel investing community. Around 200 members are spread across more than 13 cities on four continents; SIC has invested in 38 startups, run 26 SPVs, and has chapters in Taipei, Kaohsiung, Taichung, Singapore and Silicon Valley.
What is an SPV?
A special purpose vehicle is a company set up to hold a single investment. Unlike a traditional ten-year fund, an SPV lets investors choose deal by deal: you see the specific company before deciding whether to take part, with no blind pool to commit to first. This is the model SIC has used since day one.
